John has had the opportunity to play piano in shows or tours with well-know artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, The Pointer Sisters, Aretha Franklin, Kenny Loggins, etc. and at private venues with such greats as Gregory Porter, Alan Cummings, Nona Hendrix, Jon Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews and Lenny Kravitz.
John was musical director for Broadway shows at Santa Barbara-area high schools and junior high schools for more than 12 years and taught Jazz at Westmont College, where he was adjunct professor from 2006 until 2020. He currently is music director at Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Goleta, California and is on the adjunct faculty at Santa Barbara City College. He is often asked to play at local hotels, weddings, funerals, private and public events.
